1. Meets Cancer Council and SunSmart workplace Guidelines

  • Empowerment Through Self-Examination: In line with the Cancer Council’s emphasis, our cards advocate for self-skin checks, reducing the risk of oversight between periodic professional exams. Over 50% of all skin cancers are found by a patient or their spouse. Promoting self-checks increases the likelihood of early detection.
  • Continuous Education, Reduced Complacency: Regularly reminding workers of the importance of sun protection and personal examination, ensuring proactive defence against skin cancer.
  • Promote Personal Accountability: Regular skin cancer checks by a GP are important, but they're not a catch-all. Our cards empower each individual, fostering responsibility for their health.

2. Skin cancer early detection saves lives

Cancer Council recommends that all individuals check their skin four times a year. Skin Check cards come with a suite of supporting materials that allow your workplace to create a constant reminder to workers. The cards have been designed to live beyond your workplace initiative and be taken home to be used by a staff member's wider family.

Early detection saves lives. The five-year survival rates are 97-99% when melanoma is found and treated early. Left undiagnosed and untreated, five-year survival rates fall dramatically to 15-20%. Non-melanoma skin cancers such as Basal cell Carcinoma (BCC) and Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are less fatal; however, failure to have them diagnosed and treated early results in the need for extensive plastic surgery, especially when on the face, head or neck where they commonly occur.

Nothing makes us happier than receiving thank you emails from staff who have found a skin cancer on their own body or helped a direct family member identify a skin cancer early.

3. 95% cheaper than onsite skin checks. Less then $7 per employee

Onsite skin cancer checks are expensive. Not only do you have to pay for the service, but there are also travel costs and the opportunity of your time to organise the visiting team, coordinate bookings, and manage staff on the day to ensure folks actually turn up. Onsite skin check clinics cost between $75 and $125 per staff member, plus travel costs, and that’s before the time spent by your OH&S/HR team and lost productivity. Skin Check cards cost less than $7 per person, and the admin time required to order and roll out the program is minimal. Stock is shipped within ten business days of the order being received and artwork approved.

We provide poster artwork, toolbox talks, PowerPoint presentations, and how-to videos with every order. There are many ways to roll out your initiative, but most clients run a series of on-site compliance and education sessions using the support pack provided and distribute the Skin Check Cards at the start of the meetings. This is quick, simple, and extremely cost-effective. Best of all, staff love the product, and it works!

Meet your OH&S requirements and wellness objectives for a fraction of the cost and administration of an onsite skin check service.
